Tagged

I've been tagged by the bite-worthy
Ms. Valyna...here we go:

Here are the rules:
1) Post these rules before you give your facts.
2) List 8 random facts about yourself.
3) At the end of your post, choose (tag) 8 people and list their names, linking to them.
4) Leave a comment on their blog, letting them know they've been tagged.

...8 random Chick facts:

1) I'm ambidextrous in many interesting ways..

2) My Barbie dolls used to do some pretty naughty things in the Barbie house...& in the Barbie car...& in G.I. Joe's fortress..

3) I like damaged people...I usually want to make the hurt feel better & if someone finds my hurt & does the same? I'm instantly melted.

4) I've broken 5 bones in my body...that includes breaking my ass/tail bone twice.

5) I think flowers are sensual.

6) My first real boyfriend smacked me, then tried to play it like he was kidding. I should have let my father kill him.

7) One of my favorite gifts I've ever been given is a rock from a beach in Ireland.

8) I've gotten more than I can tell you from blogging.

Anyone who reads this should do it...in the comments or on your site...come on...let me know.

Garden in Transit

Everywhere you walk around NYC you see beautifully blooming flowers on taxis.

They just popped up out of nowhere recently (you can't help but notice).

Turns out they are the result of thousands of children's imaginations.

I'm a complete sucker for any public art project & their power to heal.

A couple of years ago I found myself walking in Central Park under The Gates created by Christo & installed by the people of NY.

It transformed the park.

The spirit of these flowers traveling around NY are making the streets sort of magical.

"Hundreds of schools, hospitals and after-school programs throughout the City and beyond are participating in Garden in Transit. And thousands of adults are volunteering to lend a hand for what Mayor Bloomberg describes as a "mammoth, once-in-a-lifetime effort." When complete, the project will be a tangible lesson in the power of teamwork and collaboration."

Read about it HERE.

Volunteer to help HERE.
(I will if you will.)

Today I was doing something small. Getting my oil changed in my car. As I was waiting for the mechanic to finish up, I read a magazine in the shop. I found this quote from Marianne Williamson that hit me hard...so, I borrowed the mechanic's pen off the counter & copied the quote onto a scrap of paper. When he came back I told him what I was doing (as I hurriedly scribbled my words leaning onto his counter.) He just smiled & said, it's ok...I have a girlfriend...I get it.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world..."

I keep biting my lip.

What the hell?

I now have a fat bottom lip...but still...

I can't seem to help myself.

Can you read between the lines here?

Is something going through my brain?

Am I taking it out on my lip?

While I DO understand the whole

Clothes as art

Concept

Marc Jacobs chose to show these shoes on his runway

What do you think?

don't even think about considering comfort

while weighing in with your opinion

Because obviously he doesn't give a rat's ass about comfort.

Also, he seems to have borrowed this revolutionary idea from

a designer named Junko Shimada

Who already previewed these shoes

in the Spring.

I took these random photos not too long ago.
The photographer may or may not have been tipsy while taking some of these.
Can you tell?

My Sister came over & brought a yummy Caesar salad that she made with her own two hands.
The she put the leftovers in a ziplock bag.
Presentation is everything (it looked so much better on a plate).

Ever see the movie The Brake Up?
Baby needed 12 limes.

This was the beginning of the season.
My herbs & tomatoes grew nicely.
I ended up with so much basil...I put it in everything.
Basil martinis anyone?
Just kidding.
But I did find some new uses for pesto.

Honestly, these are pretty good.
Slap some cheese & maybe a tomato & a pickle on these suckers & you got yourself a meal.

Hands down, one of the easiest flowers to grow.

My Sis's friend from Italy loved that I bought this for her.
I forgot to chill it, but it was good nonetheless.
I hear it's fabulous over vanilla ice cream.
If there was any left, I'd try to stuff myself with more lemony goodness.

I got some CHOCOLATE from my friend for my birthday.
Had a scrumptiously decedent chocolate orgy for days with my new stash.

Only the best beer EVER.
OK, if you want to get all technical on me, it's an ale.
After a couple, you won't care about stupid technicalities.

Why?

What the hell??!!

I haven't posted anything here in like a week?

No, not in like a week...in an actual week.

My will to blog needs some inspiration.

The extra day off this week was well needed.

I was in one of those rare & beautiful...throw it all out...moods.

Framed prints that I once loved...but now they just make me cranky...kicked to the curb.

Cakes plates...why did I have a gazillion cake platters?

Books, Halloween costumes, candles, soaps...why do I need them all?

Why?

Why did I post another picture of a cat anyway?
