30 Rock

A couple of weeks ago
I past filming for 30 Rock.
As I stood on the sidewalk across the street
The Southern woman next to me
asked..."what are they filming?"
"30 Rock", I said.
"Dirty Rock?", she asked.
Idiot, I thought.

Christmas themed show about the interns striking?

Kenneth the intern.

Tracy Morgan.

These 2 big guys play Tracy's bodyguards (& they are huge).

SNL

SNL did a funny skit involving (legally blind) NY governor David Patterson.

I thought it was silly fun.

Some people thought it was offensive to blind people.

I think it's an incredible achievement that Governor Patterson is running the state of NY (he was appointed after Elliot Spitzer had sex with a high priced prostitute from NJ, remember?)

& I think the antics of SNL shouldn't be seen as taking anything away from that.

So silly.

I miss this place if I don't come here for a bit.

Damn, why do I do that?

Sorry (for me...not you).

This was a line from a song I heard today.

Did she lick your palm & tell you your fortune tonight?

My answer is...no...she didn't...

But I'd be up for it if she did.

Depending on who 'she' was anyway.

Has anyone seen the new show "True Blood" on HBO yet?

I'm very not into scary stuff...but this is so well done & beautiful to look at

You can't turn away.

It's done by Alan Ball (the same guy who created "Six Feet Under"

(one of my all time favorites).

If you have a chance

watch it with an open mind

& tell me what you think.

The House of Tudor

I just finished reading The Other Boleyn Girl. What a descriptively creative story. It's told from the point of view of Mary Boleyn, sister of the infamous Anne Boleyn, the second wife to King Henry the VIII, who untimely lost her head. Mary is married off at 15...then, chosen to be the King's mistress. What fun...& I left out the part about the gay brother & the witch & the prostitutes.

The next day I received The Tudors from Netflix. Seems I'm obsessed with Henry VIII & this whole time in history. Has anyone else seen this ShowTime series? Holy crap is Jonathan Rhys Meyers lovely? He's got lips to die for...plus, he's deliciously Irish in real life. I sort of miss his Irish accent in this as he tries to sound English.

I love the clothes from this time period...although...I'm sure if I had to wear them I'd be so uncomfortable. All that tightening & pushing up...gotta love a good heaving bosom though...no?

As I was flipping the channels a few nights ago I ran across the Lifetime show, "How to Look Good Naked". It's hosted by Carson Kressley, who my sister spotted iceskating in Bryant Park this winter & proceeded to gush over & partially molest to the best of her ability. He was extremely nice about it...so I watched the show.

Turns out the one I watched dealt with a 5' tall girl who thought her thighs were too fat & her height was too ridiculous. OK, so we had a few (2) things in common.

The show was both optimistic & honest. He taught her to walk in very tall heels (a skill I'm working on) & gave her some more tips:

Dressing in all one color will give a shorty an illusion of height by making the eye move from top to bottom without any interruptions.

Buy a couple of bras with seams, they support better.

Keeping the jacket somewhat short helps make your legs appear longer.

So, there you have it...cool show...but I'm not completely sure I'll have the patience to watch many more episodes. For the guys, would you watch it for the chicks in sexy underwear? It has that going for it (very nice underwear too).
