October Snow
Looks like a Dr. Suess tree, doesn't it?
Can you believe it?
Got a foot of snow in October!
Lost trees & power.
Had no power from Tuesday at 10AM til a few hours ago.
2 days without power!
WTF?!
Can I tell you how glad I am to have power (& heat & hot water) again?
If it weren't for my parents living not too far away...
I'd be a frozen block of ice by now.
Did I miss Indian Summer or something?

(a photo of the 2nd best scones I ever had in my life...the best ones were eaten just a few days before this photo was taken...oooooh...were they all so good).
Lately...
One of my favorite things about Mondays is...
The farmer's market outside the train station.
It's sort of like
emerging from the bowels of the Earth
to find fruits & veggies & all sorts of baked goods
laid out at my feet.
(when I get there it's too dark to get any good photos
believe me...I want to).
Oh...& then there's the Irish scone lady.
I seriously want her to move into my kitchen on a temporary basis
I want her to stay as long as it takes to teach me to bake these glorious things.
"don't overwork the dough"
she says that's the secret to a good scone.
"what?
show me...
please."
I need to wake up to fresh scones that someone with a charming accent created just for me.

A Walk Along The Hudson
Into the sun...the Statue of Liberty.
The last of the summer flowers.
Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island.
This park is so well kept.
Looking north.
What a pretty day...ah.

Did you have a nice weekend?
(I couldn't wait to eat my leftovers).
On Saturday I met a friend for lunch.
We went to
P.F.Chang's.
if you've never heard of it
check it out...it's got a great menu.
(The Northern style spareribs will either put hair on your chest...
or take it off...depending on your inclination.)
We sat at the bar & the bartender made us something tasty.
I had some drink involving plum wine.
It went straight to my soul & brightened my day.
We shared a huge bowl of soup & some dumplings.
This friend is the sort of person that is so easy to be with
you know the kind?
We sat at the bar with our knees touching & we both almost didn't notice.
Some people are all over their personal space...
...as in...don't even think of invading it.
Gotta say, I am sometimes like that.
(depends who you're with...totally)
but not with my girlie on Saturday.
She's the type of person
who'll grab you by the hand to lead you where she wants you to go
or stand next to you in line & lean her arm into yours.
I'm the sort who'll touch you on the arm (or penis...if you have one)
to help make my point.
Some people don't take kindly to touching of any kind.
What do you think their problem is anyway?

(she looks ccold)
So...
For 2 days in a row
I went walking at lunch time.
& 2 days in a row
it was all about the boobies.
1st...in the vicinity of Canal Street
I spy a woman sunning herself in a park by the river
She's all bikini clad
(gotta love Indian Summer here.)
when...what do you know...she pops off her top
& yep...I see nipples
She's giving quite the thrill to the high school track club trotting by.
The next day I head south.
In Battery Park I see a woman breast feeding
while exposing the breast that wasn't part of the meal.
All these breasts & nipples out in the open
Got me thinking that I could use a message
Like this one.

Odd Coverage...But Nice Shoes
Is it fair to say...
Whatever your feels are for or against Sarah Palin...
the media coverage of her has been
strange?
Supporter watch as Republican presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and vice presidential running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, legs visible in foreground, participate in a rally in Allentown, Pa., Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008. (AP Photo)
Is this shot to illustrate the fact that these young men
are looking up the skirt of the VP candidate?
Think they'll find any answers up there?

I miss this place if I don't come here for a bit.
Damn, why do I do that?
Sorry (for me...not you).
This was a line from a song I heard today.
Did she lick your palm & tell you your fortune tonight?
My answer is...no...she didn't...
But I'd be up for it if she did.
Depending on who 'she' was anyway.
Has anyone seen the new show "True Blood" on HBO yet?
I'm very not into scary stuff...but this is so well done & beautiful to look at
You can't turn away.
It's done by Alan Ball (the same guy who created "Six Feet Under"
(one of my all time favorites).
If you have a chance
watch it with an open mind
& tell me what you think.

Cocktails
Went out tonight with my chicky from work.
She was meeting a guy for the 1st time.
We had drinks & appetizers together 1st.
He met us at the bar later.
He appeared by our barstools out of nowhere with a drink in his hands
My friend was chatting up the stranger next the her at the time.
I shook his hand & said that his date would be with him in a moment.
I felt oddly useful for a sec.
She turned around after getting the stranger at the bar's business card.
She said hello to her date as I whispered in her ear that she was a slut.
She laughed & I think her date thought she was laughing at him.
Great fun for me...I thought.
I ushered the 2 newly dating (at least for the night) people on their way to dinner
Then continued to sit at the bar & talk my friend up to the stranger at the bar.
I think I went above & beyond in the friend category today without question.
After my work there was done
I walked to the scary parking garage alone trying not to think that this
was where some very bad things happen to people in movies
Why, always in parking garages?
Really, why?
But I made it out alive to tell you this riveting tale of friendship & sluttiness.
I'll drink to that.
